4.2 Cleaning
1) Cleaning Notes Cleaning is necessary given the accumulation of oil and dirt on the parts. Ways of cleaning suitable for the cleaning include steam purging, light oil rinsing, neutral cleanser washing, trichloroethylene steam cleaning and washing solution (magusSolution)used in a shakable washing machine. As the damaged locations of the part may get exposed in the course of the cleaning, be sure to make a careful check while performing the cleaning.
2) Cleaning of metal parts
(1) Light oil cleaningUnlike other solvents, light oil shows relatively weak capability of penetration or dissolving of dirts. Therefore, in the course of the cleaning, make sure dirts have been removed off by virtue of tools like wire brush etc with the exception for precise and fine fin-ish surface. Follow this way to make the cleaning twice.
(2) Alkaline solution washingAlloy parts are not allowed to be washed by alkaline solution. But alkaline solution is suitable for cleaning steel and cast iron parts.
Note: In the event of a splashing of alkaline solution on your skins or in your eyes when cleaning, immediately flush the skin or eyes with plenty of water. As a means of precaution, a kind of neutralizer (such as boric acid solution) should be readily made avail-able for use at hand.
